Tulemar Costa Rica Wedding
The rainy season has lasted pretty late this year. It’s always a bit of luck to be able to pull off an afternoon wedding ceremony the first few weeks of November, but this year has been more wet than usual. So it had been pouring like crazy the days before Jillian and Mike’s scheduled wedding ceremony at the private beach in Tulemar Buena Vista Villas; it was just a grey curtain of rain. The ceremony was scheduled for 4 PM and as I was driving up to the hotel with my assistant it was coming down pretty hard.
We decided to wait an extra hour, to see if maybe it would let up a little. During that time I was able to get a lot of shots of Jillian getting ready. Because of the cloud cover, it made for this gorgeous directional light coming in through the large windows of the hotel.
As we were taking these photos, the rain started to ease up, and the sun began to peak in through the clouds. We lucked out, and the sun came made its appearance and stayed around for the ceremony, which was held on the private beach in Tulemar. It started drizzling a little during the portrait session but we did get some colors during the sunset. Right as we were finishing up it started to come down hard and rained until the next morning. So in the end, the only two hours of sun that day just happened to be during the wedding ceremony. Quite a lucky day wedding day.
